Contact Your Legislator About S. 342

South Carolina pharmacists have a critical opportunity to protect patient access to care—but we need your support now.

S.342 (PBM Reform) has advanced out of committee and is now before the full Senate. This is a key moment, and support is needed to ensure the bill continues moving forward.

Why This Matters

Since January 2023, more than 100 pharmacies have closed across the state—many in rural and underserved communities—reducing access to care for patients who rely on local pharmacists.

S.342 would:

  • Ensure pharmacies are reimbursed fairly for the medications they dispense
  • Prevent pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) from reimbursing their own pharmacies more than others
  • Establish a clear, enforceable process to address underpayments
  • Protect patients from steering and unfair pharmacy restrictions

Lawmakers are currently hearing significant opposition, which is creating hesitation.
