Bowl of Hygeia

Sponsored By National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations and the American Pharmacists Association
Nominees must be a pharmacist licensed in South Carolina that has not previously received the award. They must not be currently serving or have served in the past two years as an officer of SCPhA. Nominee will have an outstanding record of community service that reflects well on the profession of pharmacy. This person should be well known throughout the state for their contributions to the profession through volunteerism within pharmacy, involvement in SCPhA activities and encouragement of professional development of young pharmacists. Nominees must have been a member of SCPhA for the past ten years. This award is not presented posthumously.
Pharmacist of the Year

Sponsored by the South Carolina Pharmacy Association
Nominees must have been a member of SCPhA for the past 3 years and must demonstrate involvement in all aspects of state and national governmental/legislative affairs as well as community service organizations. They must not have been a SCPhA officer in the past 2 years and must be known throughout the membership as someone influential that works to guide the profession of pharmacy to become a stronger profession. Nominees must be licensed in South Carolina.
Ken Couch Distinguished Mentor Award

Sponsored by the South Carolina Pharmacy Association
Nominees must be a member of SCPhA whose efforts or activities have significantly contributed to promoting leadership in others. Nominees must be an individual who has promoted and encouraged students or pharmacists to attain leadership positions within pharmacy through example as a role model, mentor or preceptor. Both the nominee and the nominator must be current members of SCPhA. The nominator is responsible for submitting a complete award nomination, which consists of a letter from the nominator describing the most important achievements of the nominee and explaining why the nominee meets the criteria for the award, a current CV or detailed resumé, two letters of recommendation are preferred. Members of the current Board of Directors are not eligible.
Distinguished Young Pharmacist

Nominees must have been a member of SCPhA for the past 3 years (membership during college will be accepted) and must demonstrate passion for providing pharmacy care for their patients and their community as well as a commitment to the profession through participation in SCPhA, state, and national organizations. They must have practiced pharmacy for less than 9 years and be licensed in South Carolina.
Excellence in Innovation

Nominees must have been a member of SCPhA for at least 3 years and must not have been a SCPhA officer in the past 2 years. They must demonstrate commitment to improving patient care through expansion of drug therapy management and pharmacy technology into a unique practice setting. They must also be licensed in South Carolina.
Technician of the Year
Sponsored by the South Carolina Pharmacy Association
Nominees must have been a member of SCPhA for the past 2 years. They must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with patients and health care professionals to promote the value of technicians. Nominee must be someone influential that works to guide the profession of pharmacy technicians to become a stronger profession. They must be nominated by a pharmacist with direct knowledge of their work and they must be a state certified technician at the time of nomination.
Student Pharmacist of the Year

Nominations will be accepted from each campus in South Carolina (Presbyterian College, USC, and MUSC). The Dean or his/her designee from each campus may nominate one student pharmacist who is currently a student in good standing, has been a member of SCPhA for at least 1 year, demonstrates involvement in and promotion of SCPhA on their respective campus, and demonstrates passion for the profession, their patients and their community. They must not have previously received the award. It is not a requirement that the student be a past or present Junior Board Member of SCPhA or president/officer of their campus APhA-ASP chapter.
Generation Rx Champion Award (Discontinued)

Nominees must have been a member of SCPhA for the past 3 years and must demonstrate excellence in community-based prescription drug abuse prevention. The award is intended to recognize outstanding efforts within the pharmacy community to raise awareness of this serious public health problem. It is also intended to encourage educational prevention efforts aimed at patients, youth, and other members of the community. Nominees will be evaluated based upon the additional following criteria: involvement of other community groups in the planning and implementation of prevention programs; innovation and creativity in the creation and implementation of prevention activities; scope/magnitude of prescription drug abuse efforts and demonstrated impact of prescription drug abuse prevention efforts.
Ralph Wilkie Distinguished Lifetime Service Award
