Non-Discrimination Requirements for South Carolina Pharmacies
– Notices Must be Posted by September 28 –
New federal non-discrimination notices must be posted no later than September 28, 2016 in the top three languages spoken at home in South Carolina. In addition, you must have the 3 most spoken languages in “Tag Lines” (Short informational sentences about non-discrimination) that should be posted alongside the full notices and as part of your website and business email address or any large publications that you may distribute. If you provide your patients with a major publication, you need to use Top 15 Tag Lines.
SCPhA has gathered most of the information and forms you will need to come into compliance including researching the top three (3) languages spoken at home here in South Carolina. In addition, we have also developed a sheet with the fifteen (15) most spoken languages for your Tag Lines. Since every pharmacy’s demographics are different, you may need to post the document in another language in order to better serve your patient base.
This information is not legal advice and is to be used only as a guidance to these new rules that took effect July 1, 2016 and must be in place no later than September 28, 2016. This is for informational purposes only.
